Closing rank is the NEET UG rank of the last candidate who got a seat in that category in that MCC round. Your rank has to be the same as or smaller than the closing rank to have a chance. Each round lists only the seats allotted in that round, so later rounds can show fewer programmes.
MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) fills the 15% All India Quota of government medical and dental colleges and every seat of AIIMS, JIPMER, central universities, deemed universities and ESIC colleges. The other 85% of seats in state colleges, and private college seats, are filled by state counselling. The stray vacancy rounds fill a few leftover seats, so their ranks run much higher.
