About Anna University
Anna University is a Tamil Nadu state technical university set up on 4 September 1978 by bringing together four older institutions: the College of Engineering, Guindy (1794), Alagappa College of Technology, Madras Institute of Technology and the School of Architecture and Planning. The main campus of about 189 acres is at Guindy, Chennai, and the MIT campus is at Chrompet. Admission is on Class 12 marks through TNEA counselling.
